A trickle vent is an opening that is fitted into the opening vent at the top of the frame.

Your glass type represents how strong your glass is. Annealed is the common name for float glass and tempered glass is the common name for toughened glass.

Laminated glass is two pieces of annealed glass which is stuck together with a film. Laminated glass is classed as a safety glass usually used for extra security such as shop fronts and part Q building regulation requirements.

A Rated is the best glass for energy rating, while none rated is the lowest but also the cheapest.

The acoustic value represents how much sound the glass can dampen; the higher the acoustic value the more sound it can dampen. High acoustic glass is ideal for areas where there is going to be a lot of external noise.

Insulated glass sealed units (IGUs), also known as double glazed units, are constructed with two panes of glass that are kept apart by a spacer bar (or pane spacer) that sits around the inside edge of the glass. What is a georgian bar?

Georgian bars windows are set inside the sealed unit, which means that they are sandwiched in between layers of glazing. Rather than being added to the glazing, they are sealed within the Georgian bar window unit interior to achieve the traditional Georgian design.

What is a Astragal bar?

Astragal bars are planted on to to the window glazing internally and externally. They separate panes of glass, giving the effect of traditional period features. In other words, astragal bars are applied to one single piece of glazing, but give the effect of multiple panes of glass to enhance the look of the window by giving it this classic appearance.
