Replacement window casements and tilt and turns

Make sure to lubricate the handles, hinges, friction stay and locking mechanism at reasonable intervals, but do not pull down on handle when closing window.

Residential doors including composite doors

Make sure lubricate the locks and hinges. Ensure that the drain holes are kept clear and when the door is, closed lift the handle to engage the lock.

Patio and bi-folding doors

Locks and roller mechanism are to be lubricated at reasonable intervals to ensure a smooth roll. Make sure that the lock catch is in the ‘open’ position when closing the door. Ensure that the track is cleaned out regularly and particular attention should be paid to the removal of particles of damaging grit.

Cleaning - aluminium and uPVC

Frame surfaces should be washed with a mild detergent. You MUST NOT use hard abrasives and strong acid or alkaline cleaners.

Lubrication

We recommend the use of WD40 which is effective and economical. If you fit a fine tube to the aerosol spray it will allow easy access in penetrating such parts as the Patio Door Roller mechanism.

Never allow WD40 to come into contact with the rubber or neo-prene gaskets.
